Teacher Faces Jail Time Over Spyware
OMG! You could go to jail for 40 years if you happen to get spyware on your PC at work!
Julie Amero, was convicted of endangering students by exposing them to pornographic material displayed on a classroom computer.
The scary thing is that the testimony of experts in this case was in part censored by not allowing them to give a full explanation of the way spyware, adware invades a system through seemingly innocent websites. Just Google flash games and you’ll see that a lot of these sites that kids love to spend time at also contain javascripts that will invade a persons PC trough an unsecured web browser, such as Internet Explorer 5.
It’s obvious that this is a HUGE miscarriage of justice and
goes to show that many people out there just don’t get technology, and their ignorance in this case could real screw up your life!
I suggest that if you work at a school Do Not use a windows PC, or if you have no other choice unplug it when there are kids in your class room and use Firefox as your browser, get it here, when you need to access the internet.
