The plug-in generates a customizable thank you email that’s sent to the visitor and the visitor’s email and name are sent to an email address of your choosing. Possible use is collecting email address for a newsletter, or leads for your sales force before redirecting to a brochure.

Changelog
1.2
- Bug fix: Fixed a problem with a clash between the Easy Sign Up plugin and the Atahualpa Theme.
- Added the form as a widget.
- Changed the validation script to jQuery validation plug-in 1.7
- Added form_id as an optional attribute to the short code, this will allow the form to be in more then one area of your page without confusing the form validation script.
Note that you need to make your id one word i.e. form_id=”my_id” OR form_id=”myID” is correct, But form_id=”My ID” is wrong.
1.1
Removed direct access to the wp-config.php file. Added custom tag to the auto reply email. If you would like to include the name person who signed up in the Thank You Email just paste #fullname# into the Thank You Email text field where you’d like to see it.

Easy Sign Up Plug in Options Page
Hi,
thank you for the plug-in, it is working very well.
I have a problem with someone repetedly signing-up with some generic name and and an address ‘email@gmail.com’. Server keeps trying to send a reply to the address I guess does not exist and I end up with hundereds of notifications in a mailbox. Is there any option to exclude this particular e-mail address or it is hopless case?
Sorry Gabriela, there is nothing that we can do from the plugin side of things. But your host should be able to set how many times an email is tried before abandoning and bouncing the email back with an error message. I will add a hidden field to the next version to trap these spam robots that are normally responsible for these kinds of issues.
Hi,
I installed the plug-in and everything looks okay but when we enter in email addresses to sign up we do not get the auto response welcome message and we do not get the email information from the sign up form. Where should I start to try to fix this. thanks!
Did you fill out the options page? See: http://www.greenvilleweb.us/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/easy_s_up_options.gif
Hi – great simple tool.
However, is there any way that the person’s email address can come in the From: Box, instead of my own? Like this I can’t set up a rule to collect them automatically and drop them into my mail program.
Thanks
Nick that will be a great option to add – I’ll make a note of this suggestion for the next version.
I added Easy Sign Up and it works great! However, as you can see on my site, I added it as a widget to a sidebar. The issue is that my client does NOT like that the name and email input fields are not quite lined up. Anyway to remedy this?
I went into easy_sign_up.php and tried to add a space before the word Email and even added a second asterisk (see below) but the spacing is still the same. Is there somewhere I can add a space so that the email input field will line up with the Name input field?
Email **
Thanks,
Susan
Susan you’d have to remedy it in your theme’s css.
Hi,
Thank you for the plugin.
Do you know if there is a way to add captcha…?
Thanks!
I was testing the sign up page in firefox, safari and chome, and noticed in chrome it kept bouncing me out of the sign up box. . . don’t know it it my code on the site or conflicting plugins? I updated wordpress to 3.1 and the other browsers seem fine. . . anyone else out there having issues with chrome and the Easy Sign up plugin?
Mark I use chrome (on a mac) as my primary browser and have yet to run into that issue – I’ll have a look at your design and get back to you.
Okay figured it out – I should send you a trouble shooting bill
.
The page refreshes on the keyboard down event. In english: when you push down on the keyboard’s buttons.
This has the effect of kicking you out of the form.
If you watch the mp3 player and the facebook link both flash on the page.
My first guess was the flash player, but after a few tests it’s the Facebook like button that is causing the problem.
Where do I find the email addresses of those signing up?
They should be in the emails you received on sign up.
