Last week I released Easy Sign Up v2 Plugin for WordPress. It is a free download at WordPress.org.

It is still a very simple form that collects the name and email address of the user, then redirects them to a web page that is choose by you in your admin area.

With this release I rewrote the entire plugin to future proof it for the next WordPress version 3.2.
It is still compatible with WordPress 3.0 and up so there is nothing you need to do to get it working.

I removed the jQuery from the validation as the same could be done far more efficiently in native JavaScript.
Just by removing the jQuery I saved about 22 kbs, and the plugin does not need to load the jQuery so that could save you an additional 82 kbs.

So what are Easy Sign Up Extras, you ask?

Great Question! Extra’s are extensions to the plugin that are installed from within the Easy Sign up plugin, you could think of them as plugins for the Easy Sign Up plugin.

I heard you like plugins so I go you a plugin for your plugin!

What Easy Sign Up Extras are available?

Again Good Question! Currently I have two released Easy Styles Extra and the Easy Data Extra.

Easy Styles allows you to customize the look and feel of your Easy Sign Up form. You can change or translate the text, change the layout and colors of the plugin and more. There is even a video you watch to showcase the features you’ll get with the Easy Styles Extra.

Easy Data allows you to keep a database of the people that have used your easy sign up form, from the date you install it. You can export the data as a spreadsheet that can be imported into your newsletter programe or just opened in your spreadsheet application on your PC.
